BEST IUI TREATMENT IN CHENNAI TAMIL NADU..

Intrauterine Insemination is a type of artificial insemination procedure used to treat infertility. During an Intrauterine Insemination IUI, sperms that have been washed and concentrated are placed directly in the uterus around the time of ovulation, so as to reduce the distance travelled by the sperm to fertilize the egg. The desired outcome of IUI is for the sperm to swim and reach the fallopian tube to successfully fertilize the egg. Depending on your body's reason for infertility, IUI – Intrauterine Insemination can be carried out in tandem with your normal cycle or with the aid of fertility medication to stimulate ovulation.

Why is IUI done?

IUI is done to overcome a couple of infertility issues and is often used in couples who have

Unexplained infertility

IUI is usually performed as the first treatment for unexplained infertility and is done along with the help of fertility medicines.

Donor Sperm

IUI is most commonly used for women who need to go for donor sperm in the form of frozen donor sperm specimens which are thawed before the IUI procedure.

Endometriosis related infertility

For those who suffer from endometriosis, IUI is most often the first form of treatment approach. During this treatment, fertility drugs are used to obtain a good quality egg after which IUI is performed.

Male factor infertility

One of the basic steps in the assessment of infertility is the analysis of the sperm. If the sperm is found to be below average in concentration, motility (weak movement), size or shape (morphology) then IUI is done. IUI can overcome these problems as during the sperm washing process one can get highly motile sperm separated from the normal weak ones.

The cervix is the opening between the vagina and the uterus. Mucus is produced at the cervix during the time of ovulation to provide an ideal environment for the sperm to travel to the fallopian tube. But if the cervical mucus is thick, it may hinder the sperms travel.

Furthermore, if the cervix is scarred during biopsy or other procedures this can lead to thickening of the cervix itself which can hinder the sperm's journey. IUI bypasses the cervix and directly deposits the sperm into the uterus thereby increasing the chances for the sperm to reach the egg.

What to expect during an IUI process?

The IUI process is just a 15 to 20 minutes procedure that is usually done in the doctor's clinic or office. The procedure itself just takes a minute and does not require the ingestion of any medicines or painkillers. During the procedure, the doctor attaches a vial containing healthy sperm at the end of a long, thin, flexible tube (catheter). The catheter is inserted into the vagina, goes through the cervical opening and into the uterus. It then pushes the sperm sample through the tube into the uterus followed by the removal of the catheter. Once the procedure is over you can go about your daily activities.
